ATH is a regional debit payments and ATM network, owned and operated by EVERTEC, Inc. in Puerto Rico and certain countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Through a strategic alliance between EVERTEC and Discover, ATH’s participating financial institutations in Puerto Rico will have the ability to offer their customers PIN-based ATH debit cards with signature functionality. This will expand the use of ATH debit cards to POS terminals worldwide on Discover and Diners Club network. Today, EVERTEC also provides acceptance for merchants and ATMs in Puerto Rico for Discover, Diners Club, and Global Card.
BCcard is the largest domestic payments network in South Korea, one of the world’s top credit card markets. Its strategic alliance with Discover, implemented in 2011, allowed BC Global Card members more flexibility to make purchases and access cash wherever they are traveling internationally. Since the launch, 6 million BC Global Cards have been issued by member financial institutions with the potential conversion on additional 52MM proprietary cards. Today, BCcard is one of the largest issuers of D-PAS EMV cards.

China UnionPay Co., Ltd. (UnionPay) is the only national payments network, with more than 4.3 billion cards issued on the network. Today, UnionPay has card acceptance in over 140 countries and issuing in more than 30 countries. Through reciprocal alliance with UnionPay and Discover, established in 2005, UnionPay cards are accepted at the merchants and ATM’s on Discover and PULSE network in the U.S. as well as Discover, Diners Club, and Global cards are accepted at the merchants in China.
EUFISERV Payments scrl is a Brussels-based cooperative company owned by retail banks from eight European countries and by the European Savings Banks Group. The strategic ATM participation agreement will allow more than 68 million cards, issued by 600 EUFISERV member banks in SEPA region, to participate in the PULSE Global ATM Network.
JCB is the only international payment network in Japan. JCB, founded in 1961, is also a leading credit card issuer and acquirer. Reciprocal alliance with JCB and Discover, formed in 2006, enabled acceptance of JCB cards of merchants on the Discover Network and PULSE ATMs in the U.S., and of Discover and Global Cards on the JCB network in Japan. JCB’s acceptance network includes about 2.5 million merchants in 190 countries and territories. JCB cards are now issued in 16 countries and territories, with more than 84 million Cardmembers.
Mercury is a domestic card network in the Middle East that runs on the payment network developed by Network International, one of the largest payment solution providers in the region. Through a long-term agreement between Network International and Discover, Mercury cards will be enabled on the Discover Global Network. Network International also provides POS and ATM acceptance to Discover Global Network as a Diners Club franchise in UAE.
RuPay is a national payment network in India, established by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) with the support from the Central Bank of India. NPCI is the umbrella organization responsible for all retail payment systems in India owned by 10 member banks with guidance from Indian Banks’ Association. Through the strategic alliance, RuPay Global Card transactions will be processed on the Discover Global Network. The long-term agreement will also enable acceptance of Discover, Diners Club, and Global Cards at merchants and ATMs in India.
Smartlink Card., JSC, is a leading domestic payments network in Vietnam, which is inter-connected with 51 banks and financial institutions. The long-term strategic alliance will further increase transaction volume on the domestic payment network while giving Discover and Diners Club, and Global cardholders more ability to use their cards at ATMs in Vietnam via a network of local commercial banks.
Verve is a Pan-African card scheme with about 30 million payment tokens issued by over 40 Financial Institutions across Africa. Verve runs on the electronic payment network developed by Interswitch Limited; an Africa-focused integrated digital payments and commerce company. Interswitch provides online, real-time transaction switching that enable businesses and individuals have access to their funds across various financial institutions in Africa and across a variety of payment channels. Through strategic alliance, Verve Global cardholders will have access to Discover Global Network for international purchases and easy access outside of Nigeria. Similarly, Discover, Diners Club, and Global cardholders will have access to purchases and cash accounts in Nigeria through Verve network.
